We love motorsports!  Grip Tyte is dedicated to designing and manufacturing tools to make motorsports a little safer, cleaner and easier...

Based in Ft. Worth, I've been lucky enough to have two incredible tracks near me... Motorsport Ranch (MSR) and Eagles Canyon Raceway (ECR).  Both have enabled me to campaign a Spec Boxster (SPB) since 2018.  Racing PCA and SCCA is a thrill that never gets old.  

I'm not an engineer by trade but along the racing journey, I developed a few tools to address little problems or inconveniences that bothered me either during a practice session or race weekend.  

Grip Tyte really came about out after an encounter my wife had with my fuel jugs.  She was trying to help me prep for a race weekend and went to the pumps for 15 gallons of 93 octane.  Two of the caps were vapor locked or sealed so tight she couldn't remove them.  Needless to say, I had to get fuel myself later that night.  I knew the issue she had as I've dealt with it myself.  Sometimes I had a strap wrench handy... if the cap was dry, I could wrestle it loose.  If the cap was dusty, wet or greasy it was a challenge.  Then I realized I just needed a tool that was made for the job and wouldn't damage the cap.  I thought about all the tools in my garage... how a ratchet was better than an adjustable wrench or a hammer was best for driving nails or even how a saw is better than an axe...I think you get my point.  You can sometimes get the job done with anything but the right tool is just better!

The next week, I grabbed my laptop, started learning some CAD software and purchased a 3d printer and started prototyping wrenches for me and some friends.  

The wrenches have come a long way since then.  Better fit and finish along with an almost unbreakable, injection molded nylon fiber material... it's probably over engineered but it's built to last.

We didn't stop with just the VP Racing compatible wrench... we have three different styles now to choose from and working on new stuff all the time.
